It’s taken me a while to come around to hand sewing, don’t get me wrong I constantly see amazing EPP projects and wish I could make them, but I have doubts about both my skill and patience. Recently I’ve started seeing the advantages of having a mobile sewing project so I decided to give it a go.
I had my first taste of English Paper Piecing (EPP) with Jenny @Hashtagsew and Amy @Coffeeringsstudio last year at a sewing retreat and it’s something I’ve been meaning to do more of. So, with the first sign of spring and the opportunity to sew outside, I started the Ice Cream Soda Quilt EPP project by Tales of Cloth at the start of spring (March 2019) and I’m hoping that I’ll have enough hand sewing to see me through spring and summer. To be honest at the speed I hand sew I could be going for a few years.
You can check out my blocks in my Ice Cream Soda Block Gallery here ..
UPDATE: I’ve made some progress and have approx 40 blocks made to date (July 2019). It seems to have slowed off over the last month as I’ve been busy but it’s certainly more than I thought I would have done.
